UXC Eclipse acquires selected assets of WineDirect

UXC Eclipse LogoUXC Eclipse (USA) LLC, the North American arm of UXC Eclipse, a leading provider of intelligent business solutions to the enterprise and mid-market, has announced the acquisition of selected assets of WineDirect in the USA, namely its ERP business. UXC Eclipse is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UXC Limited.

WineDirect is a leader in winery direct sales, providing a broad range of technology and logistics solutions that provide access to new markets and consumers. The company’s ERP practice is an industry leader in North America for Microsoft Dynamics NAV in the wine industry.

Andrew Kamphuis, President, WineDirect, said, “I see this as a real win for our customers and our employees. UXC Eclipse has a laser focus on ERP software – they know what they’re doing with Dynamics NAV and with industry IP. Their investment will bring our wine industry solution to the next level – taking our customers and our people on that journey with them.”

UXC Eclipse has been a significant player in the Asia Pacific wine industry ERP market for many years with its VinPoint solution built on Dynamics NAV. This acquisition expands its wine industry base and demonstrates its commitment to driving innovation and excellence in Microsoft Dynamics.

This is the third strategic acquisition for UXC Eclipse in North America in 18 months, following the acquisitions of Cole Systems and selected assets and staff of Tectura. Just three weeks ago, UXC Eclipse acquired selected assets of the Koorb Consulting business, to become the largest Microsoft Dynamics AX partner in New Zealand.

Bradley Stroop, CEO, UXC Eclipse, said, “Both UXC Eclipse and WineDirect are known for their wine industry ERP leadership within their geographical regions. This acquisition will see UXC Eclipse become the global leader in Dynamics NAV for the wine industry with a strong presence in North America and APAC. It gives customers direct access to a larger Dynamics team with a depth of industry knowledge and a broad skillset.”

The combined solution from UXC Eclipse and WineDirect will retain the VinPoint branding globally and will deliver a greater Dynamics NAV offering, with deep functionality around regulative requirements. This is complimented by modules for vineyard management, winemaking, warehouse management, and manufacturing. By managing the solution centrally, UXC Eclipse will renew the focus on product innovation and develop a cohesive wine industry roadmap.

Bradley Stroop said, “The resulting depth of wine industry and product knowledge cannot be matched by any other partner in the industry. This will increase UXC Eclipse’s profile in the market, attracting new customers and heightening our industry reference ability. The VinPoint solution is now ready to attract a much broader market share of the wine industry globally.”

The UXC Eclipse VinPoint solution is available on premise and in the cloud. The combined team’s knowledge and skills around SaaS deployment will ensure solid delivery options for the company’s wine industry customers.

UXC Eclipse will integrate the WineDirect ERP team into its existing professional services infrastructure.

UXC Eclipse identifies key business and technology trends for 2014

UXC Eclipse LogoNovember 4, 2013 – Australian businesses looking to overcome current market challenges could benefit by following the key trends predicted for 2014 according to UXC Eclipse, a leading provider of intelligent business solutions to the enterprise and mid-market.

1. Risk mitigation remains key
With continued global economic uncertainty likely to continue into 2014, businesses need to mitigate the risks associated with large projects and software investments. Stakeholders are looking for security and guaranteed project outcomes.

Anne Callaghan, COO, UXC Eclipse said: “Business must demand their implementation partner offers quality assurance for all projects to mitigate the inherent risks associated with the software implementation lifecycle. Large-scale ERP implementations are often business-critical so it’s important to do your due diligence before you start, so that everything can run smoothly.

“It is equally important to have senior executive sponsorship from the implementation partner.  With an ERP implementation, you’re putting your business in the hands of another company, so you want to be sure that they will deliver the project. Having a direct line to management means that any concern can always be addressed immediately.”

Companies should also be aware of upcoming privacy law changes, which come into force in March 2014. Organisations will need to have the correct procedures and safeguards in place when sharing customer data with other entities. Companies will have to appropriately manage and protect their information and that of their customers, since failure to do so may lead to significant fines.

Anne said: “Organisations have to understand how the new privacy laws will impact their business. It’s important to act now to be ready for the changes.”

2. Platform and architecture transformation will speed up
The choice of cloud or on-premise deployment is now available for most applications, from Microsoft Office to large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions.

Cloud has emerged as a great way for organisations to save money, perform more efficiently and flexibly and bring products to market faster. It will only grow in popularity as benefits become more widely documented.

William Moore, Senior Executive – Enterprise Solutions and Services, UXC Eclipse said: “Companies have to decide on the right applications to suit their operational needs and the method of deployment. This platform, whether cloud, on-premise or a hybrid approach, must then be integrated into the business, which adds a new layer of complexity.

“This type of transformation can be extremely valuable to reduce costs and increase flexibility but it is essential for companies to clearly understand their business requirements and options available to choose the right solution.”

3. Business intelligence goes real-time
Large and small organisations continue to seek benefits from data. Used effectively, data can reveal many opportunities for businesses to operate more effectively. In 2014 businesses will keep improving how they interact with data including where and how they can view the data, making sure it is relevant and using it proactively to make informed business decisions.

Mark Weimann, Senior Solutions Architect Manager, UXC Eclipse said: “Stakeholders and end users want integrated, user-driven dashboards that let them see the information they need at a glance. Making smart, informed decisions is more important than ever in the current business environment. That’s only possible when the information you need is available in real time and is accurate and comprehensive.”

4. Mobility will become ubiquitous
Mobility is no longer a hot topic but a mature technology across most businesses. It is expected to be seamlessly integrated into business applications as part of the whole delivery experience for both customers and employees.

William Moore, Senior Executive – Enterprise Solutions and Services, UXC Eclipse said: “Many businesses will be playing ‘catch up’ in 2014 to bring this end-user reality into their work-day application environment. Companies have mainly been focusing on external audiences when it comes to mobility but the internal aspects will be increasingly important.

“BYOD (bring your own device) or CYOD (choose your own device) will become more prevalent as companies realise the benefits of making business applications available securely on users’ own mobile devices.”

5. Projects have to deliver stakeholder value
Projects have to deliver ongoing value to stakeholders to justify the cost and be considered successful. Businesses will increasingly demand proof of value in 2014. Due diligence at the start of an IT project will help to assess the potential return on investment.

Russell Gordon, Practice Director – Business Process Management, UXC Eclipse said: “Delivering value to the stakeholders means understanding and agreeing on project deliverables from the start. Formally documenting business processes and having company-wide agreement on those before a project kicks off is a powerful way to ensure that the desired value and outcomes are understood and then delivered, particularly with ERP and CRM projects.”

6. ERP continues to be relevant
As business complexity increases, the need for an effective ERP system to tie it all together and provide a single source of information also increases. ERP will be highly relevant in 2014 and continue to evolve to suit business needs.

Mark Weimann, Senior Solutions Architect Manager, UXC Eclipse said: “ERP is likely to become more simplified and easier to use and access. User interfaces will become more tailored to user roles and user groups, while more advanced analytics tools should provide better, faster access to data. Specifically, more predictive analytics will help improve the decision-making process.”

phiLight Software International and UXC Eclipse sign strategic partnership agreement to provide simplified intelligence and intelligent solutions on a global scale

UXC Eclipse LogoSydney, Australia – October 30, 2013 – phiLight Software International, authors of Sharperlight, and UXC Eclipse have signed a strategic partnership agreement to provide simplified intelligence and intelligent solutions on a global scale.

Sharperlight is a real-time enterprise self-service reporting and analytics integration framework, providing an easy-to-use and user-friendly interface across multiple systems. It overcomes many of the cumbersome aspects of traditional business intelligence solutions.

Too many organisations focus on the financial data in their enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to run their business. A great deal of corporate and operational data is often held in multiple other operational systems which is too difficult to access. Sharperlight changes the paradigm of data access: it has pre-built connections (Datamodels) available for Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Infor SunSystems v4, Infor SunSystems v5+, PROACTIS & PayGlobal and is able to connect to virtually any other system a customer may have within their organisation.

Martin Talbot, Chief Operations Officer of phiLight Software International, says, “In the last two years since we went to the market, our partner and customer base has grown significantly every month. UXC Eclipse is a well-respected and professional global organisation; our partnership demonstrates that Sharperlight has the breadth and depth required to conquer the market and the rapid joint successes we have had to date further attest to that.”

“The Sharperlight partnership just makes sense,” says UXC Eclipse CEO Bradley Stroop, “It is an application that matches our own portfolio of intelligent solutions, and it is a great value add-on for our customers. Sharperlight is a user-friendly, flexible BI solution that allows customers to execute rapid data analysis across a range of different systems. Its multi-platform functionality is very convenient for our customers that use third party value add-ons with their Microsoft solution.”

A gold certified Microsoft Dynamics enterprise resource planning (ERP) partner and a member of the exclusive 2013 Inner Circle for Microsoft Dynamics, UXC Eclipse was recently announced as a finalist of the 2013 MAPA Microsoft Partner of the Year Award for ERP. UXC Eclipse has 14 offices internationally and over 400 employees.
