Sydney, November 2, 2009 – A new study by Outsource, one of Australia’s leading ICT marketing services companies, has found the majority of Australian IT managers and CIOs will work through December and January.
More than 50 per cent will be considering new technology and IT services purchases during this time.
The research, resulted from surveying more than 120 CIOs and IT managers, was conducted in October 2009 to investigate a long-held assumption that marketing prospects largely disappeared over December and January. The results challenge the assumption that lead-generation and marketing programs conducted during this period are wasted.
Adam Benson, director, Outsource said, “Contrary to popular belief, our research shows there are good reasons to market at all times of the year. The market research confirms our suspicions at Outsource that there are plenty of senior decision-makers who can be reached in December and January.
“Companies that keep their communication, lead generation and data cleaning programs running over this time of the year will be well ahead of the game in 2010,” he said.
Of the 123 CIOs and IT Managers surveyed by Outsource:
- 63 per cent plan to work for all of December and January, except for the period between Christmas and New Year.
- 52 per cent are more likely, or as likely as they are now, to research new technologies and IT services over December and January.
- 69 per cent expect their December workload to decrease or be similar to current levels.
- 68 per cent expect their January workload to decrease or be similar to current levels.
