Alspec chooses Eclipse to support strategic growth through Microsoft Dynamics AX implementation
$2.5million advanced enterprise planning resource solution will underpin customer service improvements and support growth for future
Sydney, 5 August 2010 — ALSPEC, a national distributor of aluminium extrusion and building hardware, has purchased Microsoft Dynamics AX enterprise planning resource (ERP) software, from leading supplier of business intelligent solutions, Eclipse Computing (Australia) Pty Ltd (Eclipse), in a deal worth $2.5 million including software, implementation and support.
ALSPEC’s rapid growth from a single employee to its current national network of 400 staff and eight locations had outstripped the capabilities of its in-house developed software.
Frank Neijts, IT manager, ALSPEC said, “One of the key drivers for purchasing an integrated ERP and warehousing solution was the expansion of the business in multiple directions, both through broadening products and scope of the business further up the supply chain.”
“We needed the flexibility within our systems to maintain pace with our growth and strategic direction. Previously we relied heavily on individuals that possessed the know-how and customer relationships to sustain our growth and maintain customer service, which was unsustainable.”
ALSPEC purchased Microsoft Dynamics AX to embed those processes and knowledge, and reduce the amount of manual intervention to reduce errors, speed up ordering turnaround times, resulting in better customer service.
Microsoft Dynamics AX is a flexible financial, inventory, procurement and reporting solution and will allow ALSPEC to improve internal ordering processes and deliver faster turnaround times for customers. ALSPEC also required a strong solution for credit control and trade promotions across their multiple locations, which Eclipse will deliver and support.
Mr Neijts said “We selected Microsoft Dynamics AX based on product fit as the company’s software tightly integrates with other Microsoft solutions. But what finalised our decision to select Eclipse was the company’s deep capability and knowledge of ERP solutions.”
Recently awarded the worldwide 2010 Microsoft Dynamics AX Partner of the Year, Eclipse is an established ERP vendor in the mid-market and one of the top ten Microsoft Dynamics partners globally.
