July 2, 2012 – RSM Bird Cameron, one of the largest mid-tier accounting firms in Australia, has announced nine new appointments, demonstrating the continued success path of the firm.
The new appointments include:

* Jonathon Colbran and Mitchell Herrett appointed Principal – Turnaround & Insolvency, Canberra
* Andrew Johnson appointed Principal – Business Solutions, Perth
* Rhys Kyburz appointed Principal – Business Solutions, Canberra

Stephen is a Partner in the Perth Tax Services division providing specialist R&D tax incentive and innovation consulting services. Stephen started his career in 1999 and has provided advice to a diverse range of industries, from start-up innovators to large multi-national corporations. In addition to R&D tax incentive advisory, Stephen is experienced in advising and supporting clients with various Government grant programs.
Phil Di Candilo
Since joining the firm in 1996 Phil has gained experience working in regional offices before settling in the Bunbury office in the South West of Western Australia in 2005. Phil is responsible for a large portfolio of business clients covering an area from Exmouth in the north to Pemberton in the south. Specialised in Superannuation, Phil is in charge of the team that consults and prepares RSM clients in the south west for compliance with Self Managed Super Funds.
Stuart is a partner in the Wagga Wagga office. He provides business planning and taxation advice to clients in both rural and business sectors. Stuart also assists clients with compliance requirements for their Self Managed Super Funds. He focuses on various business areas such as cash flow and profit analysis, business planning, year-end reporting, including financial statements and income tax returns, business evaluation and investment proposals, loan applications, superannuation and estate planning.
Richard has over ten years’ experience in the fields of corporate recovery and forensic accounting. He brings a wealth of local and international experience having practised in the United Kingdom for a number of years. He specialises in turnaround and has significant experience helping businesses that are facing administration, negotiating and formulating the sale and restructuring of a company. He covers a wide range of industries including manufacturing, logistics, professional services, IT, property, building and construction.
Danette works in the Tax Services division of RSM Bird Cameron Sydney, having previously been a Tax Principal at Deloitte. Danette’s tax expertise is diverse, from transaction based advisory to international tax planning, tax compliance, transfer pricing and tax related drafting. She has a particular focus on the energy, infrastructure and resources industries.
Jon has eleven years’ accounting experience and nine years’ experience managing personal and corporate insolvency engagements. His expertise includes formal insolvency appointments such as receiverships, voluntary administrations and liquidations; formal personal insolvency appointments and land council administrations.
Mitchell joined the Turnaround and Insolvency division in Canberra in April 2004. Prior to that, he spent four years at a specialist business investigation and recovery firm in Sydney. Mitchell’s experience includes managing different areas of insolvency including voluntary administrations, and liquidations, deed of company arrangements, official liquidations and receiverships. He’s worked in different industries including: retail, transport, manufacturing and construction and pharmacy.
Andrew joined RSM Bird Cameron in 2006 as a Senior Manager in Business Solutions. Andrew specialises in taxation, business consulting and strategic business planning for the following industries: wine and viticulture, IT, professional practices, manufacturing, hospitality, human resources and recruitment, property developers, mining and resources, transport and finance. Andrew provides various taxation and consulting services for private and listed companies.
Rhys has more than ten years’ experience with a mixed portfolio of commercial and not-for-profit sector clients, as well as professional associations. Rhys manages the internal accounting functions for different clients. He is responsible for the coordination and preparation of all fringe benefits tax returns for the Canberra office. He also provides in-house training on fringe benefits tax, and business activity statements.
