LevitateTM is the ultimate mounting solution for desktop monitors

Hi-res images available on www.levitatemonitorarm.com

Sydney, Australia, 26 October 2010 — Atdec has announced the unveiling of Levitate, a radically innovative mounting solution for flat-screen displays that allows even large sized desktop monitors to be tilted, positioned and re-positioned in seconds, without cumbersome user actions. The new Levitate mount is a dramatic step forward in both functionality and aesthetic design, combining unsurpassed convenience and versatility with a breathtaking appearance that enhances virtually any workplace environment. Levitate will launch at the bi-annual ORGATEC trade exhibition this week in Cologne, Germany (Stand A033, Hall 6).

Jerome Green, CEO of Atdec, said, “We set out to make a statement with Levitate, and we’re thrilled with what we accomplished. We took risks never contemplated before in ergonomic work tool design and the result is a feat of engineering. No other mount offers Levitate’s ease of use and versatility, even with larger, heavier computer monitor displays, and from a design standpoint the remarkable visual appeal speaks for itself. Simply put, there’s nothing else like it on the market today.”

Atdec’s Levitate ergonomic monitor arm is an exciting departure from the drab designs of conventional articulating/spring assisted monitor mounts, and sports a futuristic look that sets any work environment apart from the crowd. Generous and clever cable management hides unsightly wires internally, and the polished aluminum/stainless steel-finished cosmetics will appear in multiple colour variations for different decors and architectural spaces. Levitate is perfect for graphic design stations, touch screens, collaborative workspaces, or any other application where a monitor needs to be easily and quickly positioned for comfort of use, or shared and re-positioned for multiple users, while keeping the workspace neat and attractive.

The beauty of Levitate is only surpassed by its truly radical functionality. The inbuilt Levitate’s Dynamic Lift Assistance (DLA) consists of adjustable springs in both the upper and lower arms, designed to allow the arms to be raised and lowered and rotated 360°, independently. This allows users to position monitors with unparalleled ease in an infinite range of positions, and to accommodate almost any workstation environment no matter how tight or restricted.

Levitate comes standard with both a bolt through and desk clamp mounting option. The bolt through mounting option will support up to 13kg and the desk clamp option will support monitors up to 9kg. For those customers who prefer a desk clamp option and need to mount heavier than 9kg displays, a heavyweight desk clamp accessory will be available to support displays up to 13kg.

An optional 180-degree rotation limit protects walls and partitions from unwanted contact, and stainless steel stabiliser bars provide strength while adding to Levitate’s signature appearance. Thanks to a quick-release mechanism and a unique top-loading desk clamp, installation is exceptionally quick and can be done without having to get underneath the desk.

The unique features don’t end there. To assist in large projects of multiple installations, Levitate has a visual gauge that can be set according to the screen weight, allowing installers to standardise the spring adjustments and ensure a uniform and quick process.

The Levitate mount is also exceptionally “green” in materials and packaging, and represents an environmentally friendly choice in which all parts are recyclable and it can be easily disassembled into individual material components. No hazardous or VOC emitting materials are used and raw metal finishes are maximised.

Atdec’s Levitate will be available February 2011 at an RRP of AU$369. The additional desk clamp heavyweight accessory will be available at an RRP of AU$79. For additional information on Levitate please go to http://www.levitatemonitorarm.com/

Dual-pivoting system provides convenient tilt, pan and orientation options with great aesthetic appeal

Sydney, Australia, 6 October 2010 — Atdec has announced the latest in its innovative series of Full Motion monitor mounts, the attractive and versatile TH-1032-VFM. The new mount provides users with full tilt and pan functions for displays up to 25 kgs, with a pre-assembled solution that brings stylish, contemporary cosmetics to any viewing environment.

Jerome Green, CEO of Atdec, said, “Our new TH-1032-VFM mount is a perfect fit for situations where two ranges of monitor movement are called for. We’ve made pan and tilt functions effortless for the user and the mount looks beautiful no matter which position it’s extended to. Atdec’s comprehensive line of mounting solutions covers virtually any application with style and functionality; the new TH-1032-VFM is now another great Atdec answer in the installer’s range of client offerings.”

The Adtec TH-1032-VFM is distinguished from the competition by its sleek, die-cast aluminum cosmetics and a host of convenience features that makes positioning easy for displays up to 32 inches. A ball-joint mechanism allows infinite adjustment of up to 20 degrees in any direction, which greatly simplifies installation and gives viewers the freedom to choose the precise viewing angle that’s perfect for their environment. A simple tension adjustment allows both installers and consumers to optimise the viewing angle without the need to screw and unscrew numerous bolts, as is common with conventional mounts.

In addition to its pan and tilt capabilities, the TH-1032-VFM allows selectable display orientations between portrait and landscape, with virtually complete 360 degree adjustment. This feature is perfect for applications where the monitor needs to be re-positioned for fullest effect, such as digital photography, social networks and computer-assisted drawing (CAD). To keep the viewing area attractive and uncluttered, the TH-1032-VFM features advanced cable management, so that unsightly wires are fed through the channels and secured using the cable covers. A quick release mechanism with a security feature provides peace of mind and superior theft resistance.

The Atdec TH-1032-VFM is available now with an RRP of $179.

Atdec has unveiled Levitate, a radically innovative mounting solution for flat-screen displays that lets even large-sized desktop monitors be tilted, positioned and re-positioned in seconds.

Ultimate marriage of form and function is a stunning artistic achievement and sets a new benchmark in industrial design

Sydney, Australia, 16 September 2010 — The desktop monitor has become the focal point of much of our work lives, not to mention our link to much of the outside world. Atdec believes that this window has been static and confining for too long, and has designed a dramatic new mounting concept that allows computer monitors to be adjusted to the most ergonomic position for the user or shared with co-workers with the touch of a finger. In doing so, the company has made sharing an electronic display as easy as sharing a paper printout, while bringing elegant, forward-looking aesthetics to any desktop environment.

For designer Simon Duff, Levitate was more than just an industrial design challenge. It was a chance to alter the very nature of the workplace itself, allowing information to be viewed and shared easily among groups, rather than confined to a single individual. By combining innovative new techniques in functionality with a fresh, futuristic look, Duff and Atdec have created a stunning new paradigm in desktop monitor mounts, an increasingly important product category previously characterised by unattractive and immobile hardware that was difficult to adjust and an eyesore to behold.

Levitate is unique in that it allows simple, convenient height and reach positioning, rotation, pan and tilt for desktop displays without cumbersome user adjustments. Key to its unique range of movement is the ability for its counterbalanced upper and lower arms to move independently of each other, which allows a wider range of movement that can be achieved in seconds. The lower arm offers optional 180 degree limited rotation; preventing collision with partitions and walls in desktop environments. Unlike conventional mounts, which are based on a simple “pole” concept, Levitate allows even large format displays to be adjusted easily from a sitting position, thanks to its dual-arm, counterbalanced engineering. This unique approach yields a striking form factor much like a fine desk lamp, rather than the usual indifferent metal tube.

Aesthetics are a key value proposition for Levitate, which not only offers clean lines and minimal hardware clutter, but also a thoughtful cable management system that hides unsightly wiring through an integrated channel. Different colours and finishes will be offered, allowing Levitate to provide any decor or architectural environment with a great new look.

Installation has also been made radically easier and more versatile. Unique to Levitate, the desk clamp is fitted and tightened from above the desk so no need to get on your hands and knees under the desk to install the product. In addition, Levitate ships with both the desk clamp and a bolt through option for different installation requirements. To assist in large projects, a visual gauge on the arms allows the counterbalance adjustments to be calculated once according to the screen weight and then replicated en masse for the remainder of the mounts to be installed.

In keeping with the movement toward a greener planet, Levitate has also been designed with complete environmental responsibility in mind. Each of its parts is recyclable and can be broken down into their individual base components. No hazardous or VOC emitting materials are used and raw metal finishes are maximised. Even its packaging is designed for the use of recycled paper pulp and recyclable paper material wherever possible.

Atdec’s Levitate will launch at the bi-annual ORGATEC trade exhibition, which will be held October 26-30 in Cologne, Germany.

An appealing design is not always a guarantee of a safe installation.

Last week, two TV wall mount models from a reputable US mount manufacturer designed for the home and commercial uses were recalled from the international market. Apparently, the elbow joints of these faulty mounts were unable to carry the weight of the mounted TV screen as claimed. Depending on the weight of the display, people are experiencing sinking, slumping or falling televisions.

An appealing design is not always a guarantee of a safe installation.

Atdec, Australia’s largest flat screen mounting company and a world leader in mounting innovation and design, advises consumers to research TV mounts thoroughly before making a purchase, as many TV mounts in the market today may look fancy and have an attractive price tag, but are actually a poor and inferior display support system in disguise.

Jerome Green, managing director at Atdec, says, “Having aesthetically pleasing qualities doesn’t mean you have to compromise on safety for flat panel mounting in the home and commercial situation. Smart design today isn’t just strength or aesthetics. It means functionality, environmentally responsible design, ease of installation and stylish design without compromising strength and durability.”

Atdec has a strict quality control system based on years of research and development and vigorous testing so that its TV mounts not only have sleek designs but also have the capacity to hold heavier screens securely.

For example, Atdec’s Telehook TH-3270-UFM has the capacity to hold 65kg in weight, and comes pre-assembled which guarantees a quick and easy installation.

Atdec’s Telehook TH-400-LED allows displays to be ‘hung’ from the wall using a state-of-the-art picture-hanging principle. The TH-400-LED is lightweight yet strong and durable, allowing any display up to 50kg in weight with a 400mm-wide VESA mounting hole pattern to be ‘hung’ only 15¼mm from the wall.

The Telehook TH-3060-LPF offers the closest wall contact for ultra-slim TVs – just 14mm from the wall. It can carry all displays weighing up to 65kg, and is held from the wall with an easy to attach click-on mounting system, combined with a safety spring lock.

Atdec TV mounting designs marry functionality with safety, and are available in Australia and New Zealand. For more information please visit www.atdec.com.au

Sydney, July 21, 2010 – Atdec today released its ultra-slim mounting solution, the Telehook TH-3060-LPF, which offers the closest wall contact for ultra-slim TVs just 14mm from the wall.

The latest addition to the Atdec Telehook range positions a TV screen completely flush to the wall with seamless precision. The mount offers multiple vertical and horizontal options in installation by giving users control of the screen position, with ease. It allows multiple height options before mounting the TV to the wall, and offers the freedom to make lateral adjustments before and after installation.

Once the display has been mounted, the mount’s inbuilt cable access stand makes it effortless to manage TV cables behind the screen, providing a secure, yet professional and sleek finish every time.

This state-of-the-art design carries all displays weighing up to 65kg, and is held from the wall with an easy to attach click-on mounting system, combined with a safety spring lock.

Land and Property Information New South Wales

Land and Property Information smartens up its workstations with Atdec

Introduction

Land and Property Information (LPI) is a branch within the NSW Land and Property Management Authority (formerly Department of Lands). LPI performs a wide range of land administration functions and is responsible for the registration and recording of all documents affecting land transactions, including transfers, mortgages, leases and plans of subdivision by surveyors.

With new technologies and greater expertise in the field, LPI is a world leader in land title management. Its vision is to deliver comprehensive and integrated digital land information products and services that meet the changing needs of its customers, which include commercial and government organisations, utilities and tertiary institutions, members of the public and the community of NSW.

Challenge

In 1999, LPI introduced flat-screen monitors as an occupational health and safety (OH&S) measure for those staff members who had special requirements.

LPI engaged Atdec to equip its Sydney-based office with single-arm mounts for the monitors and continued to use the company’s solutions for various fit-outs over the following decade due to its reliability and competitive pricing.

More recently, as part of a refurbishment and to meet the changing needs of the business, LPI upgraded all workstations in the dealing and plan examination areas with dual screen configurations.

Andrew Brooks, team leader, Administration and Support, Document Registration Services, Land and Property Information, said, “Workstations in the dealing and plan areas were originally fitted with single-arm mounts of a competing brand, however they were not stable enough to support the two flat screens required for each workstation.

“Staff now need sufficient screen space to view a high volume of graphics and the flexibility to change the orientation of the screen when required, particularly in the plan examination area.”

Mr. Brooks continued, “Staff who directly serve the public and professional clients require an open, transparent feel and staff need to appear available. LPI needed a solution that would lift the monitors off the desktops so they could be seen by and shared with customers.”

Solution & benefits

LPI installed 125 of Atdec’s VISIDEC Focus Articulated Arm Double and 15 of Atdec’s VISIDEC Focus Articulated Arm Single at the start of 2008.

Atdec’s VISIDEC Focus Articulated Arm Double is an ergonomically designed product that enables monitor flexibility, glare control and more efficient use of workstation space. Its configuration options include side-by-side or back-to-back, and features portrait/landscape rotation.

Mr. Brooks said, “The flexibility of the double arm lets staff have more direct eye contact with customers and share on-screen information easily, creating a more transparent office space. The portrait landscape rotation also enables greater flexibility and productivity in the plans area of the office.”

LPI also installed the TELEHOOK TH-3070-CTW Back to Back ceiling mount in its reception area following its purchase of two Samsung 40” LCD flat screens.

The Back to Back unit supports two displays up to 91kg each and features horizontal and tilt adjustment and a telescopic pole that enables adjustable distance from the ceiling to the centre of the display and 360º rotation.

Mr. Brooks concluded, “The sleek, modern appearance of the Atdec mounts reflects LPI’s status as a technologically advanced world leader in land information and management.”
