New Fluke temperature calibrators deliver high accuracy in easy-to-use, single function tools

Fluke 712B Process CalibratorApril 7, 2014Fluke Corp. introduces two single function calibrators for simulating process temperature sensors. For technicians who don’t want the complexity of multifunction test tools yet need highly accurate temperature calibration, the Fluke® 712B RTD and 714B Thermocouple Temperature Calibrators let instrument, process and plant maintenance technicians quickly and easily test process temperature instrumentation.

The Fluke 712B measures and simulates 13 different resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) types and resistance and the 714B measures and simulates 17 different thermocouple types as well as millivolts, to verify process sensors by direct comparison of measured versus reported temperatures.

The calibrators also measure 4 to 20 mA signals with 0.001 mA resolution while simultaneously sourcing a temperature signal with both readings displayed on the large, backlit display for easy transmitter calibration. They can scale the measured mA to the programmed 0 and 100 per cent temperature settings to verify the 0 and 100 percent values scaled in a temperature transmitter.

They also feature linear ramp and 25 per cent step auto-ramp based on 0 and 100 per cent settings.
Settings at power down are saved for easy restart of tests when the calibrator is powered back up. Both calibrators have built-in magnetic hanging tools for easy mounting while taking measurements.

Fluke Calibration 9190A Ultra-Cool Field Metrology Well delivers best-in-class stability

Fluke 9190AFebruary 19, 2013 – Fluke Calibration, a leader in precision calibration instrumentation and software, introduces the 9190A Ultra-Cool Field Metrology Well, a small, lightweight, and accurate dry-block calibrator with best-in-class stability.

The 9190A is ideal for pharmaceutical, biomedical and food processing applications that demand strict quality control and regulatory process compliance. This includes on-location validation and calibration of RTDs, thermocouples, thermometers and other temperature sensors.

The 9190A conforms to EURAMET cg-13 guidelines for best measurement practices for temperature dry-block calibrators. This means its specifications for accuracy, stability, axial (vertical) uniformity, radial (well-to-well) uniformity, loading and hysteresis have been thoroughly and carefully defined and tested.

The 9190A has a wide temperature range (-95 to 140 degrees Celsius) to cover the coldest and warmest temperatures required in pharmaceutical, biomedical and food processing applications. Operating at ultra-cold temperatures is not typically available with a calibration bath. The 9190A uses no bath fluids, which keeps clean rooms clean, makes it easier to transport and delivers faster heating/cooling rates. It offers best-in-class temperature stability (plus-or-minus 0.015 degrees Celsius) for consistent and accurate results.

The 9190A with “process” option features 4-20 mA connectors, a reference thermometer input and a 4-wire PRT/RTD input with an accuracy of plus-or-minus 0.02 degrees Celsius. It also has a reference sensor control to minimise the effects of the axial gradient when a reference PRT is aligned with short sensors.

Calibration professionals find new flexibility with new Fluke 5522A Multi-Product Calibrator

5522ASydney, February 17, 2011 – Fluke Calibration, a global leader in calibration instrumentation and software, has introduced the 5522A Multi-Product Calibrator, designed to improve the capabilities of calibration laboratories industry wide.

An evolutionary design of the Fluke 5520A —the most widely used Multi-Product Calibrator in the world—the new Fluke 5522A will serve in daily use both within and outside of calibration lab. It is durable enough to be safely transported for on-site or mobile calibration of a wide variety of electronic test tools.

The Fluke 5522A is ideal for metrology engineers, technicians and lab managers who need to calibrate many different types of electronic equipment and require a transportable instrument that delivers a high return on investment in today’s challenging economic environment.

With the Fluke 5522A, metrologists can do more with less by investing in a single calibrator that gives them the flexibility to calibrate a wide range of instruments. For greater productivity, the Fluke 5522A can be fully automated with MET/CAL® Plus Calibration Management Software.

Several reliability-enhancing features protect it against damage and make it easier to transport for on-site or mobile calibration. Internal circuits and fuses protect against damage caused by applying too much voltage or current. A unique carrying case makes transportation easy and safe; front and rear access doors help the user quickly put the unit to work at the job site without fully unpacking it.

The Fluke 5522A covers a wide variety of industrial electronic test tools, including:
• handheld and bench meters (analogue and digital) up to 6 ½ digits
• current clamps and clamp meters
• thermocouple and RTD thermometers
• process calibrators
• data loggers
• strip and chart recorders
• watt meters
• power harmonics analyzers
• panel meters
• graphical multimeters
• power quality analysers (with option)
• analogue or digital oscilloscopes to 600 MHz or 1.1 GHz (with options)

An innovative carrying case accessory features built-in handles and wheel, enabling the user to move the calibrator from place to place easily and safely. Front and rear access doors are removable, the 5522A can be used while its top, bottom and side panels remain protected—all without having to completely unpack and re-pack the calibrator. A redesigned front panel and carrying handles make it easy to transport the calibrator short distances within the lab.

Accidently applying too much voltage to a calibrator’s input terminals can cause costly damage. The 5522A provides reverse power protection, immediate output disconnection, and/or fuse protection on the output terminals for all functions, making the unit virtually mistake proof.

The Fluke 5522A sources direct voltage and current, alternating voltage and current with multiple waveforms and harmonics, two simultaneous voltage outputs or voltage and current to simulate dc and ac power with phase control, resistance, capacitance, thermocouples and RTDs. It can also measure thermocouple temperature signals, and a wide range of pressures using any of 29 Fluke 700 Series pressure modules.

Two options add the capability to calibrate oscilloscopes with bandwidths to either 600 MHz or 1.1 GHz. Another option enables the 5522A to calibrate power quality instrumentation to the standards of the IEC and other regulatory agencies.
