Sydney, August 30, 2010 – National Chartered Accounting firm RSM Bird Cameron has welcomed the appointment of four Partners and nine Principals to its Australian practice.
RSM Bird Cameron National Chairman Kim Hutchinson (also reappointed for a further two year term) said he is excited about the new appointments, which reflect the firm’s commitment to recognising talent and potential.
Mr Hutchinson said, “I am delighted to congratulate the new members of our management team for reaching this milestone in their professional careers. It is exciting to see this reflection of our ongoing growth around the nation.”
Brief profiles of the new appointments are as follows:
Neil Cathels – Partner / Director, Business Solutions – Melbourne
Neil has over 30 years experience in the accounting profession, specialising in accounting and taxation issues for private clients. Neil’s experience enables him to provide privately owned business with not only accounting and taxation services but also advice in dealing with many family business issues.
Dace Harris – Partner / Director, Business Solutions – Sydney
Commencing his career as a cadet with Bentleys MRI, Dace completed his commerce degree in 1997 and became a Chartered Accountant in 2000. Dace joined RSM Bird Cameron as a Principal in 2006 after the Sydney Office and Bentleys MRI merged. Dace has in depth experience in the building, construction and property development industries. He also helps foreign entities set up and prepare for business in Australia, and to ensure all of its registration and compliance issues are dealt with.
Kristie Dundon – Partner / Director, Assurance & Advisory – Melbourne
Kristie joined the firm in July 2003 following the merger of the Audit Practice of Stockford with RSM Bird Cameron. Kristie has over thirteen years of experience covering a variety of large, medium and small public sector entities, including departments, statutory bodies, universities, TAFEs and local government. Kristie also has significant experience in the audit of private sector entities such as friendly societies, retirement villages, aged care regulated entities and health funds as well as manufacturing and service companies.
Glyn Yates – Partner / Director, Corporate Services – Melbourne
Glyn Yates joined RSM Bird Cameron in 2005 after 12 years experience of corporate transactions within both professional practice and industry. Glyn has a detailed knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, business divestment, financial appraisals, business valuations, financial due diligence, feasibility reviews and the identification of key revenue and cost drivers. Glyn’s previous experience includes the role of in-house corporate finance manager in industry where he performed a diverse range of work including the project management of both the acquisition and sale of a number of subsidiary entities, due diligence, financial modeling and investment appraisal.
Jason Croker – Principal, Business Solutions – Albury
Jason provides services in Tax consulting, profitability and performance improvement as well as commercial advice. He has worked closely with Government agencies and financial institutions in representing clients who have been adversely affected by the prolonged drought.
As an experienced specialist Agribusiness advisor, Jason not only understands the issues facing the rural sector but he takes a personal hands on approach in working with his clients to achieve successful commercial solutions.
Jayesh Kapitan – Principal, Risk Management – Melbourne
Jayesh is an experienced audit and business assurance principal who is specialised in providing risk management services including internal audit, risk management, operational reviews, compliance audit and business process improvement reviews. Jayesh is a qualified chartered accountant with over 13 years experience in the Corporate, Public and not-for-profit sectors.
Trevor Lake – Principal, Business Solutions – Geraldton
Trevor joined the Geraldton office of RSM Bird Cameron as a client manager in 2006 having previously worked for PriceWaterhouse Coopers. He assists clients with a broad range of services, particularly specialising mainly in Self-Managed Superannuation funds.
Trevor brings a wealth of accounting and commercial experience to his client matters.
Tony Lopilato – Principal, Business Solutions – Canberra
Tony commenced his accounting career in Canberra in 1986 and joined RSM Bird Cameron in July 2004. Tony has over 25 years experience managing a diverse range of small to medium sized businesses and high net wealth clients. He has a strong record of assisting clients with a broad range of services and has provided ongoing advice to businesses in the local Italian community, including being treasurer of the Italo-Australian Club (ACT) Ltd for nine years.
Peter Nicol – Principal, Superannuation Solutions – Perth
Peter joined the Superannuation Division of RSM Bird Cameron in 2005 and has since specialised in superannuation consulting and compliance. Peter has extensive knowledge of the Superannuation Legislation and its application to Self Managed Superannuation Funds. Peter also provides services to trustees and accountants of Self Managed Superannuation Funds with regards to technical issues as well as the annual audit requirements of the Fund.
Michael O’Hehir – Principal, Business Solutions – Canberra
Michael has over 20 years experience managing a diverse range of small to medium sized businesses and high net wealth clients. He has a strong record of assisting clients with a broad range of services such as providing advice to newly opened businesses, preparing quarterly management meetings and reporting for large established enterprises. Michael also specialises in Self-Managed Superannuation planning and compliance.
Tim Pittaway – Principal, Risk Management – Melbourne
Tim has over 13 years specialist experience in the provision of internal audit, risk management, compliance audit, market audit, climate change and alliance audit services. He works with both the public and private sectors, and has assisted clients in the energy, mining, infrastructure, health and public transport industries. Tim has also coordinated the delivery of assurance services throughout the Asia-Pacific region for several international clients.
Lindsay Prosser – Principal, Business Solutions – Corrigin
Lindsay is responsible for overseeing the growth and development of business services to clients in the wheatbelt of Western Australia. Since joining the firm in 1993, Lindsay has acquired extensive experience in farming organisations and small business having spent time in the Manjimup and Katanning offices prior to becoming the manager of the Corrigin office in 2000.
Richard Stone – Principal, Turnaround & Insolvency – Sydney
Richard has over 10 years experience in the fields of corporate recovery and forensic accounting. Richard brings a wealth of experience both locally and internationally having practiced in the United Kingdom for a number of years. Richard specialises in the area of Turnaround and has significant experience in trading on the affairs of distressed businesses, negotiating the sales of business as going concerns and formulating and negotiating Deeds of Company Arrangement.
