Vertel appoints Tony Hudson as commercial director

Vertel, Australia’s largest privately-owned telecommunications carrier, has announced the appointment of Tony Hudson to the role of commercial director where he will lead Vertel’s sales, marketing and customer experience teams.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the information technology and telecommunication sectors, Tony joined Vertel in 2016 as Head of Government. Prior to Vertel, Tony worked with Singtel Optus for 15 years, with eight years in the role of industry manager, NSW government. Tony has also held positions with IBM and WordFlow Information Liquidity, an Australian start-up, as director of sales.

Theo Belekas, Managing Director, said, “Tony brings a unique combination of industry experience, a strong focus on customer success and an understanding of Vertel’s vision of smarter, healthier, and safer Australian communities. Tony will help Vertel continue to service organisations that place significant value on highly-available, reliable and secure network connections, and Quality of Service-enabled managed networks and services, backed by strong networking expertise and support. “

Tony Hudson said, “Key to Vertel’s service is listening to and understanding our customers and future customers’ needs and goals, even beyond the ICT challenges. Vertel respectfully challenges customers’ thoughts around ICT requirements, and makes appropriate recommendations for technology solutions proven to have a positive return on investment. Vertel has a genuine interest in helping our customers achieve their strategic business goals.

“Customers face an increasingly crowded and complex marketplace, with lines blurring between telco and ICT. It can be difficult for customers to navigate digital transformation and consumer experiences, particularly in a landscape defined by data and security concerns, mobile workforces, and technology. Many organisations don’t know how to decide on the right types of ICT infrastructure to support their business goals. Vertel wants to help customers take control of this environment with the most appropriate ICT solutions.”
