Knauf Gypsum Australia simplifies its plasterboard offer

Knauf Gypsum (Knauf) is launching four high-performance plasterboards into the Australian market on 1 October 2025: SHEETROCK® PLUS, ImpactStop™, MultiStop™ ONE, and MultiStop™ ONE HI.  The consolidated plasterboard range will reduce complexity and improve efficiency for architects, contractors, and distributors across Australia.

SHEETROCK® PLUS is a premium residential linings solution that offers sound, impact and water resistance in family bathrooms, home theatres, hallways, nurseries and bedrooms.

ImpactStop™ delivers impact, fire and acoustic resistance for a fast and easy solution in schools, classrooms, gyms and recreational areas.

MultiStop™ ONE combines water, fire, acoustic and mould resistance with high impact performance, ideal for high-traffic retail and education spaces.

MultiStop™ ONE HI delivers even higher impact resistance with the integration of a continuous reinforced mesh in the board core.

This product consolidation simplifies specification and installation while still meeting stringent compliance requirements. The new products are rigorously tested, code compliant, Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) certified, and backed by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), providing transparency and confidence at every stage of design and construction.

George Mamic, managing director, Knauf Gypsum Australia, said, “Knauf’s new plasterboard range is the result of a complete range review and redesign to offer fewer, more capable solutions. They’re made for modern builds where functionality, compliance, and sustainability are non-negotiable. Building professionals can now achieve the required performance standards using just one or two fit-for-purpose premium plasterboard products.”

Knauf’s updated range also supports broader sustainability goals across specification, construction, and ongoing asset management.

Kelly Watson, national specifications manager said, “Knauf has considered sustainability at every stage of the product lifecycle, from recycled content and local manufacturing to durability and simplified installation. The new boards are designed to meet Green Star and government project performance criteria. Specifiers also gain even greater confidence that their selections contribute to whole-of-project sustainability outcomes when pairing Knauf plasterboard solutions with Knauf insulation products for a complete end-to-end system.”

Knauf’s consolidated approach delivers value through the full supply chain. Fewer SKUs, a clearer categorisation system, and comprehensive documentation, including building information modelling (BIM) files and digital tools, improves product selection and site logistics significantly. Onsite benefits include reduced delivery complexity, lower storage needs, and easier installation, all of which support faster project completion with fewer errors.  Support is available through Knauf’s engineering and technical team, with architectural specialists available to support in each state across Australia. Specifiers can access Knauf’s national technical support service, TecASSIST, to obtain advice, drawings, and documentation for their project requirements.

Knauf’s SHEETROCK® PLUS, ImpactStop™, MultiStop™ ONE, and MultiStop™ ONE HI plasterboards are available nationally from October 1, 2025.
