Empired signs strategic partnership with Informatica to strengthen data management and governance offering in Australia and New Zealand

Empired logo

Empired has announced a strategic relationship with Informatica to strengthen its data management and governance offering in Australia and New Zealand.

As Microsoft Gold partner in Data & AI, Empired was looking for a complementary partner in the data management space that could add to its offering, particularly around Microsoft Azure. Informatica was recently named Microsoft Global Analytics Partner of the year, demonstrating its depth of integration with Microsoft’s cloud platform, and making it a perfect fit for Empired. It was also recently named a leader in data quality in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.

Travis Barker, General Manager, Market Development – Data & AI for Empired, said, “Data management is an area of growing interest and importance to our customers. Prior to, and now because of COVID-19, data management is a getting increasing attention from organisations looking to understand and control their data estate. Organisations want to be able to wrap their arms around that data wherever it resides, protecting customer privacy from increasing cyber-security threats, for example.”

In addition, there is increasing regulation in this space with the introduction of a Consumer Data Right (CDR) in Australia in July 2020 and amendments being made to the New Zealand Privacy Act, which are due to come into effect in December 2020, all being driven by Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is leading regulation in the market globally.

Informatica’s data management solutions and pre-built Microsoft connectivity automates the process of migrating a wide variety of data workloads to Azure Synapse and Azure SQL Database.

Travis Barker said, “Empired was looking for a data management platform that would complement the Azure stack and strengthen our Microsoft-centric Data & AI proposition for customers. Informatica’s range of solutions fits nicely with Azure and demonstrates how closely it works with Microsoft in developing capabilities, which is a definite plus for Empired.”

The relationship will help strengthen Informatica’s own Azure offering by adding a key Microsoft partner across Australia and New Zealand.

Richard Scott, managing director – Australia & New Zealand, Informatica, said, “Informatica is excited about this new relationship with Empired covering both the Australian and New Zealand markets. Empired has a longstanding relationship with Microsoft and a strong track record of helping customers. This will help us to grow our joint enterprise cloud data management customer reach and scale our business with Microsoft Azure.”

Mike Girdis, Director of Partner Development, Microsoft Australia, said, “Microsoft supports its Gold Azure partners like Empired working closely with Global ISV’s such as Informatica, Microsoft Data Analytics partner of the year, to deliver better quality outcomes for our collective customers.”

Travis Barker said, “With this partnership, Empired will be able to add value for customers by strengthening conversations around data management and compliance. In the current business environment, it has never been more important for organisations to have a trusted partner that can help them protect their customer data, no matter where it resides. Organisations that take data management to the next level will gain a business advantage over their competitors that will help ensure the future of their business.”

Empired logo

Empired Group has been appointed to the prestigious Microsoft Business Applications (Dynamics 365 and Power Platform) Inner Circle, which recognises the top one per cent of Business Applications partners worldwide, for the third consecutive year. The inclusion of ASX-listed Empired, and it’s New Zealand-operation Intergen, that has now been appointed to Inner Circle six times, was announced at Inspire, Microsoft’s annual premier partner event, held digitally on July 20-21, 2020.

Membership to the Inner Circle is based on strict criteria that considers a partner’s organisational capabilities and business performance as well as its ability to help its customers get the best from their digital transformation efforts.

Kellie Blackall, general manager business applications, Empired, said, “This is great recognition on the back of amazing client outcomes across all the Dynamics solutions Empired offers. The diversity of the customers Empired works with is testament to our ability to solve the hardest business challenges and provide valuable business outcomes.”

Empired’s Dynamics business in Australasia has gone from strength to strength in the past year and the appointment to the Inner Circle reflects the group’s commitment to the Microsoft platform.

Steve Scarbrough, general manager business applications, Intergen, said, “This appointment is a really important outcome for Empired. During the last summit, we gained insight from the product managers and partners around new capabilities and how they were landing in the market. This early insight lets Empired craft its strategy with additional information that complements our own experiences.”

Empired is also a member of the Microsoft Data and AI Inner Circle.

Empired signs partnership with Pro AV Solutions for streamlined collaboration offering

Empired logo

Empired has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Pro AV Solutions to deliver a streamlined approach to creating dedicated collaboration spaces for organisations. The partnership means customers will experience a streamlined and coordinated deployment of both the hardware and software elements of their collaboration solutions.

Jaen Snyman, practice manager – modern workplace, Empired, said, “As more organisations embrace collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, and as the nature of work sees more employees working remotely, the need for dedicated collaboration spaces in offices has grown. These spaces incorporate software solutions such as Teams or other video conferencing and collaboration tools alongside audio-visual elements including screens, cameras, microphones, and more.

“If any element of the solution is misconfigured or badly installed, then the organisation won’t be able to get maximum value from their collaboration solution. Therefore, it’s essential to bring specialists in who can ensure the solution is optimised from day one.”

AV specialists understand how to make a collaboration room work optimally based on the logistics and layout of the room and the equipment. For example, ceiling microphones may be required alongside certain lighting options and camera placement to be sure everyone can be seen and heard clearly.

Jaen Snyman said, “As customers are looking to get more value from their collaboration rooms, they need to work with a team that understands their needs and can deliver a high-performing solution according to their budget. Having worked with Pro AV Solutions in the past, Empired is confident that this partnership will deliver exceptional outcomes for customers.”

Pro AV Solutions has more than 200 staff members nationally, giving it a large enough footprint to meet all of the needs of Empired’s customers. Working together, Pro AV Solutions and Empired deliver a full-service experience to customers who now only have to manage one vendor and one invoice.

Furthermore, the partnership can offer ongoing managed services that cover every aspect of the collaboration room. Customers who require support can simply call one number to get the specialist support they need.

Jaen Snyman said, “Teams is one of Microsoft’s fastest-growing products. Collaboration is absolutely essential in most businesses and video plays a huge role in effective collaboration. These collaboration rooms can deliver exceptional value to organisations by saving on travel time and costs, and bringing team members and stakeholders closer together in an immersive experience.

“Having real experts on hand to manage each aspect of the collaboration room gives customers peace of mind that their solution will work as expected, every time.

“Empired chose to partner with Pro AV Solutions because of its strong reputation in the market and national presence. Having worked with Pro AV Solutions on a number of collaboration rooms in the past, Empired was convinced the Pro AV Solutions team was a perfect fit with the right resources, expertise, and attitude to provide outstanding outcomes for customers.”

Empired hires Episerver MVP Darren Stahlhut as national technical director and secures Episerver platinum partnership

Empired has expanded its customer experience team and cemented its position as a leading Episerver partner in the Asia Pacific marketplace with the appointment of Darren Stahlhut as the national technical director in the digital and experience design team. Empired has also been recognised as the only platinum-level Episerver partner in Asia Pacific.

Darren Stahlhut is one of three Episerver Most Valued Professionals (MVPs) in Australia. The MVP designation is bestowed on Episerver experts who contribute significantly to the Episerver community by providing extensive assistance, inspiration and information to other Episerver users. They must have a strategic as well as a development approach, and they must set a strong example in terms of being open, courteous and professional.

Episerver MVPs benefit from being part of an online community where they can ask questions, exchange ideas and provide direct feedback to the Episerver product teams. They receive exclusive information regarding upcoming product launches and exceptional insight into how the product works.

Kevin Miller, head of digital and experience design, Empired, said, “Empired is continuing to strengthen its position in the customer experience space. With four out of five Episerver specialisations, Empired is highly experienced and recognised across the Episerver stack. This expertise was recognised in March 2020 with three awards from Episerver, including overall partner of the year in Asia Pacific.

“Empired is excited to bring Darren Stahlhut on board as an Episerver MVP. As national technical director, Darren will be the technical subject matter expert and evangelist for Empired clients and will work closely with local teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients by leveraging the power of the Episerver platform.”

Darren Stahlhut, national technical director, digital and experience design, Empired, said, “I’m passionate about helping clients understand what technology can achieve for them. This means staying close to the vendor and knowing the platform intimately. Episerver is a joy for developers to work with and I was attracted to work with Empired because of its strong reputation as an Episerver partner. I was also excited about the opportunity to work with clients on complex projects with numerous moving parts. I’m looking forward to helping drive amazing results for Empired’s customer and digital experiences team.”

Darren Stahlhut is the second new hire for Empired in the digital and experience design team, with the company on the lookout for a third strategic hire. In late 2019, Empired appointed Rob Weaver, one of Australia’s leading customer experience experts, as a customer experience and digital strategist. As an organisation, Empired is passionate about reimagining customer and digital experiences. Its strong growth in this area is testament to Empired’s ongoing commitment to build the customer experience offering. This is also reflected in Empired’s new platinum-level partnership with Episerver.

To earn its designation as an Episerver platinum partner, Empired completed a thorough certification process including completing Episerver education training, employing a significant amount of Episerver certified developers and completing four Episerver specialisations. The distinction indicates that Empired is a qualified, value-add seller of Episerver Customer-Centric Digital Experience Platform.

Dominic Citino, VP of worldwide partnerships, Episerver, said, “With a network of over 900 partner companies in 30 countries, Episerver seeks to connect with qualified partners whose firms possesses a wealth of experience, team members with a creative outlook, global reach, and a collective eye toward future opportunities to ensure mutual customers are successful in the short and long term. Both  Empired and Episerver are experiencing incredible growth by helping customers get closer to their customer, grow their brand and uncover new revenue opportunities. Empired is accelerating the pace at which businesses are able to provide customer-centric digital experiences and its platinum-level status is a testament to that.”

Kevin Miller said, “Customer experience has emerged as a key battleground for organisations regardless of sector. Delivering and maintaining strong customer experiences in the digital forum will continue to be crucial for organisations both now and in the future. With the right technology platforms in place, businesses will be able to drive their online presence and realise strong gains. Empired is gearing up to help clients take a leading position in customer experience. These new hires are just the beginning.”

Empired and Intergen are delighted to be recognised alongside our customers, Laser Clinics Australia and Toyota New Zealand, in winning these three prestigious awards.

“These awards are particularly significant for us in the respect that they celebrate our ability to be much more than a technology provider for our customers across Australia and New Zealand. For us, these awards are a celebration of our ability to bring together our team’s strategy, creative and digital capabilities with our customers’ knowledge to help them really change their businesses through the clever use of customer-centric digital technologies.”

Kevin Miller, head of digital and experience design, Empired, said, “These awards recognise Empired’s ability to empower clients to transform how they engage and connect with their customers. They also demonstrate that our CX-led approach to digital transformation lets our customers deliver innovative and seamless experiences that delight their customers and deliver amazing results for their business.

“As an end-to-end digital transformation consultancy, it’s critical to have the expertise to deliver experiences across an entire customer journey and so we’re honoured to be recognised as Episerver’s Partner of the Year for APAC.”
