Report provides insights from business leaders across industries on key strategies, growth initiatives, and how they define success

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today announced the release of its 2020 Global Growth Index, a report that explores the growth trajectory of companies around the world and provides insight into how business leaders are using technology to support and drive growth initiatives. The index looks at the constantly changing state of growth in the manufacturing, distribution, retail and e-commerce industries along with what trends impact the bottom line.

The report’s findings show that companies are embracing technologies to offset the impacts of global volatility, such as COVID-19 and supply chain disruptions. When surveying Australian respondents, the findings included:

  • Increasing competitiveness: most companies surveyed are using excellent customer service (42 percent) and big data analytics (47 percent) to increase competitiveness. Data analytics had already been in use for between one and five years for two-thirds of Australian respondents, and 92 percent said big data is driving business growth.
  • Impacts on business growth in the coming year: the China-US trade dispute/tariffs (30 percent), environmental challenges (32 percent) and COVID-19 (66 percent) are most likely to negatively impact business growth over the coming year for Australian respondents.
  • Positive influences on business growth: planning and strategy (40 percent), technology and IT infrastructure (34 percent) and brand reputation (29 percent) were said to have the biggest impact on their industries over the last 12 months.
  • The nature of growth: when asked about the nature of their growth and its impact on the overall business over the past year, companies’ top responses were rewarding (40 percent), planned (32 percent) and well managed (44 percent).
  • Technologies set to have the biggest impact: 5G (37 percent), cloud technology (36 percent) and digital transformation (31 percent) were predicted to have the biggest positive, direct impact on future growth in the respondents’ industries over the next 12 to 18 months.

Andy Coussins, SVP and head of international, Epicor Software Corporation, said, “2020 has been a year characterised by significant disruption in the retail, manufacturing, and distribution industries. These disruptions have accelerated the move towards digital transformation for many organisations; the trends identified in the Epicor Global Growth Index confirm that businesses will look to technology and IT infrastructure to drive company growth in the next 12 months. This continued investment will be important for organisations to maintain business resilience, adapt to global volatility, and stay flexible as the market changes.”

Further results from the report reveal that:

  • Growth is strong: for 54 percent of Australian companies, growth in the past six months was a slight improvement over the previous six months. For 22 percent, recent growth was a significant improvement. Growth had slightly or significantly worsened for just 10 percent of Australian respondents.
  • Key success factors include digital: 26 percent of Australian companies said a strong digital and online presence was a key indicator of a successful growing business in their industry.
  • Overcoming challenges requires technology: 46 percent of Australian respondents said working more efficiently would help them overcome business growth challenges in the next 12 months. 41 percent said it would come down to better planning and 40 percent said better technology was a key factor.

Andy Coussins said, “The overwhelming consensus globally was that technology investments will help organisations grow, regardless of industry or region. For example, companies looking to improve customer service and use big data analytics to increase competitiveness, it will be crucial for these organisations to choose technologies that facilitate those outcomes. A modern, purpose-built enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution helps organisations to improve customer service by putting crucial information at the fingertips of those who need it. This will also feed into big data projects, letting organisations gather the data they need to deliver more comprehensive insights that can drive better decision-making.”

This online survey was conducted in March 2020 by global research firm Dimensional Research. Responses were received from 2,002 professionals across 23 countries. All respondents oversee or perform essential duties that inform the business decisions for their organisation, across the manufacturing, distribution and shipping, retail and e-commerce verticals. The survey did not knowingly poll customers of Epicor. Survey participants represented organisations with 100 employees to 5,000+ employees worldwide.

Epicor launches ‘Fit for the Future’ Program to enable partners to build business resilience in the new now

Epicor logo

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, has announced the launch of a ‘Fit for the Future’ Program—designed to empower its partners, and help them emerge stronger from market conditions than ever before.

As an extension of the Epicor brand, partners are a vital part of Epicor’s go-to-market model. By providing competency, capability, and capacity within the market, these partners enable Epicor to better serve and deliver even more value to its customers. Partners include resellers, system integrators, and service partners, which can implement, design, and develop transformational IT strategies using the broad Epicor product portfolio and tools.

In order to support partners through today’s challenging marketplace, Epicor has committed to deliver on three core pillars within an ongoing remote program.

1. Togetherness—One Team

Success over the coming months requires staying connected to those partners and companies that stand by a company’s side. As businesses continue to navigate through the new now, it’s now more vital than ever to offer and enable connectivity and agility. Epicor is actively encouraging partners to share their experiences and learnings in order to drive business improvements, needed to fuel continued growth and shore up business resilience. Partners will be able to access recordings, PowerPoint presentations, demo scripts, and other supporting documents from a partner hub to boost sales and scalability.

2. Developing Skills and Value

An enablement plan has also been put in place to help partners continue to develop a range of skills that can help them to remain competitive and agile over the coming months. Training is being delivered through a range of virtual sessions, including the following:

  • Sales skills—understanding customer pain points and articulating increased value to customers
  • Operational efficiencies, and how to improve the customer experience
  • Capability in accessing valuable collateral and managing pipeline
  • Business planning and driving SMART objectives

To support partner development, Epicor is also publishing a series of weekly webinars and has been offering free-of-charge certifications over the last month.

3. Communication

Epicor is committed to sharing valuable information—to ensure partners have useful data to help customers through a variety of new market challenges. By keeping the lines of communication open, Epicor can continue to grow alongside its partners, whilst supporting the wellbeing of each business and its employees.

For partners who have participated in the ‘Fit for the Future’ program, Epicor will be recognising these efforts through a scheme called the ‘Partner Olympics’. Points will be awarded for attending webinars, downloading information from the partner hub, and achieving certifications. By putting this scheme in place, Epicor aims to drive continued engagement, whilst helping partners to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing global climate.

“By investing in our partner community and supporting them through challenging times such as these, we are making sure businesses are resilient, by equipping them with the resources, tools, and knowledge needed to emerge stronger than ever before. We are dedicated to help our partners by helping them to thrive and adapt to the current environment in a way that’s rapid, streamlined, and scalable,” comments Paul Flannery, vice president, channel sales, international region at Epicor Software.

Cloud-based solution includes functionality to support community care options

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth and resilience in the New Now, today announced the 10.2.500 release of its Senior Living Solution (SLS). The new version of Epicor SLS adds enhanced functionality to help aged care providers deliver competitive services, be more productive, and more effectively address industry driven challenges.

“Business resilience is crucial in the New Now, and aged care organisations can increase their competitiveness and deliver exceptional client experiences with the right tools that are purpose-built for the aged care industry,” said Greg O’Loan, regional vice president, ANZ, Epicor Software Corporation. “This new version of Epicor SLS incorporates functionality that will help customers position their aged care businesses for ongoing and sustainable success. And, in keeping with the remote working requirements of the New Now, Epicor SLS 10.2.500 is available as a cloud-based solution that reduces both cost and risk for aged care providers.”

The new release can help aged care providers expand their offerings and leverage their capabilities to deliver services and experiences that can make them stand out in the marketplace. For example, aged care providers can now be better positioned to support co-sharing couples in a residential facility seamlessly.

Accompanying Epicor SLS 10.2.500, Epicor SLS CRM includes a streamlined way to admit clients to residential facilities, retirement village accommodation, or community packages. The Community Care option is a comprehensive end-to-end solution for organisations servicing clients in their homes and makes it easier to manage care planning and group events.

The latest innovations and key enhancements within the 10.2.500 release of Epicor SLS include:

  • Epicor Collaborate – a cloud-based solution that can simplify digital collaboration by using in-app messaging with familiar callouts and hashtags to enrich communication and improve employee engagement. By digitising information, manual paperwork is minimised, improving the safety of both staff and clients.
  • Epicor Virtual Agent (EVA) – added to the artificial intelligence-powered virtual agent is a new set of skills, designed to simplify everyday tasks such as purchase order approvals and supplier order processes.
  • Epicor Community Care – this update brings care planning functionality, including care plan printing and version control. Support for recording, scheduling, and billing for group events has also been introduced.
  • Epicor Residential Care – calendar and booking features show current respite vacancies and allows booking through CRM waitlists. Support for couple co-sharing has also been introduced, allowing recording of co-share couples and automatic transfers on departure of the primary co-sharer.
  • Epicor SLS CRM – accommodation and package availability details are now available while entering an enquiry or opportunity in the system. Functionality has been introduced to enable admission of a client to a residential, retirement village accommodation, or a community package, from a successful opportunity within the CRM.

“For organisations to compete effectively in the New Now, it will be important for them to have clear visibility into and control over their operations, using a modern solution built on deep industry knowledge,” said O’Loan. “The powerful business intelligence capabilities built into Epicor SLS 10.2.500 can help aged care providers compete more effectively well into the future. Furthermore, this solution can help aged care providers prepare to adopt new and emerging technologies to innovate into the future.”

New Epicor Community Care solution to power in-home services for aged care providers

Epicor logo

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, has announced the addition of Epicor Community Care solution, as part of the Epicor Senior Living Solution (SLS) offering, to power in-home services for aged care providers.

The Australian population is ageing, government funding for home care has increased, and more Australians prefer to remain in their homes as they age. As a result, the need for in-home services delivered by aged care providers is growing.

Based on current demographics and customer demand, it’s anticipated that in the next two decades, more services will be provided in people’s homes and in independent living facilities, than in traditional nursing homes. Demand from home care will be further increased due to policy changes as well from care recipients, where research shows that ageing ‘in place’ is the most positive approach for longevity and quality of life.

“Due to changing market requirements, there is a growing demand from aged care providers for a solution that simplifies the work of managing field staff and providing the best available care to the elderly, in the comfort of their own home. Aged care providers need powerful technology that lets them deliver high-quality care to their clients, through better workforce management, resource allocation, and talent acquisition and retention,” said Greg O’Loan, regional vice president, ANZ, Epicor.

“To meet this need, Epicor has added Epicor Community Care to its industry-specific Epicor Senior Living Solution (SLS) platform. This new solution aligns with the Epicor mission to provide a fully-integrated and holistic software system for all the needs of the aged care industry, including providers and clients.”

The Epicor Community Care—part of Epicor SLS—is delivered through the cloud and hosted in Australia. It meets all privacy and legislative requirements while providing a simple-to-use, mobile-ready way for organisations to manage field staff, and for field staff to manage the actions they take. The solution covers every aspect of in-home or community care, from identification to closure, and can be used on any compatible device.

Key to this is rostering, which goes far beyond simply ensuring enough people are on shift at any given time. Epicor Community Care lets aged care providers generate visits and services based on client preferences, in a client-centric approach. It helps staff use resources according to their availability and expertise, and enables organisations to schedule the right resources based on location, skills, availability and client need.

“The interaction between care worker and client is instrumental in providing good outcomes. Making sure clients get the services they need, when they need them, from their preferred supplier can make a huge difference to the quality of care experienced by the client. This solution gives aged care providers additional control to allow for better outcomes. For example, if clients are more receptive to a particular care provider, then it makes sense to schedule that provider to attend to that client as much as possible. This means the client will have a better experience and be more likely to take their medications as directed. Or, if a client suffers from diabetes, then the aged care provider can roster workers who are highly experienced in caring for older people with diabetes, helping them to better manage their condition,” continued O’Loan.

From individual providers perspectives, Epicor Community Care makes their job easier. It gives them a clear view of their jobs for the day, and allows them to accept, progress, enter case notes, and complete jobs on a compatible mobile device anywhere and at any time. Moreover, they can use the in-built maps to get directions to the client address and easily stay in touch with the office at all times.

This functionality is provided through the Epicor partner, JCurve Solutions, and its Riyo solution. Tightly integrated into Epicor SLS, Riyo helps organisations scale their business to meet demand through more efficient resource management.

“This solution not only supports aged care providers in adding in-home or community care services to their portfolio, but it also helps them move to the cloud,” said O’Loan. “Cloud-based solutions hosted in Australia can add agility and efficiency to organisations. Importantly, the integrated Epicor SLS solution provides consolidated reporting and a single source of truth, which can help organisations make better decisions and be more efficient and competitive.”

“With an integrated customer relationship management component and deep business intelligence capabilities, Epicor SLS provides a C-level perspective on business performance. It can also facilitate daily operations at a faster pace, more seamlessly and reliably than bespoke solutions or point products that aren’t integrated. As the aged care market continues to evolve, providers will need to have the most modern solutions in place so they can continue to compete effectively,” O’Loan concluded.

Epicor expects the SLS with Community Care solution will be available in April 2020.

Fiji Airways chooses Epicor ERP to support business growth

End-to-end solution offers visibility and control to enable digital transformation

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, has announced that Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, is implementing Epicor ERP, the global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

Based in Nadi, Fiji Airways is the flagship carrier of Fiji. It serves 21 destinations across 13 countries and territories, with more than 400 flights a week. Its domestic and regional subsidiary, Fiji Link, flies to an additional nine destinations across the Fijian and neighbouring Pacific Islands nations. The Fiji Airways Group transports 64 percent of all visitors who fly to Fiji and employs more than 1300 staff.

Fiji Airways had been using an older ERP system from Epicor and was looking to upgrade to support its digital transformation and growth strategy.

Mr. Andre Viljoen, Managing Director and CEO, Fiji Airways, said, “Fiji Airways is a rapidly growing airline so we need an ERP solution that supports our objectives and can grow with us. We wanted a single technology solution that could increase productivity as well as easily manage all data across the business and that would enable our digital transformation strategy.”

Fiji Airways has experienced significant growth over the last few years. In 2017, it grew the size of its fleet, launched new routes and increased the frequencies of its long-haul flights. In 2018, its focus is on growth as well as improving the overall customer experience. As part of that, Fiji Airways recently launched a travel app so guests can easily manage their flight journeys on the go. The airline also recently joined the oneworld alliance (which includes airlines such as Qantas, American Airlines, British Airways, and Cathay Pacific) as its first ever oneworld connect member, to bring additional benefits to its customers.

Managing new offerings and alliances is complex and requires a robust, modern ERP backbone. Following an extensive review and selection process Fiji Airways identified Epicor ERP as the ideal system to meet present and future needs.

Mr. Viljoen stated, “Implementing the new Epicor ERP system is integral to realising our digital transformation strategy. Our aim is to go paperless, so that means we need a platform that will automate business processes and workflows, streamline transactions and reporting, and manage spend to maintain compliance. The Epicor ERP system will provide a single source of truth which will help to increase efficiency and improve productivity, while reducing manual workflows and eliminating errors.

Greg O’Loan, regional vice president, Epicor Software, said, “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Fiji Airways. Embracing the latest in technology, Epicor ERP provides a real-time, accurate view of the business operations and also provides the flexibility needed as Fiji Airways evolves and grows.”

Epicor announces latest version of Epicor ERP to expand omnichannel commerce strategy for manufacturers and dealers

Key enhancements includes launch of Epicor Dealer Network Portal and the availability of the Epicor Kinetic Design Framework

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, introduced Epicor Dealer Network Portal as part of its upcoming release of Epicor ERP 10.2.300.

In an increasingly digital world, dealers face the same rising customer expectations as retailers, driven by technology innovations and modern eCommerce. Sales and service dealers are under new pressure to meet higher customer expectations for easy self-service, personalised offers, rapid and convenient delivery, high quality, and transparency throughout the buying process.

The manufacturer-dealer business model offers significant opportunity for manufacturers to deliver products, services, and support that meets customers’ exact needs and specifications while expanding their market reach. Epicor Dealer Network Portal is specifically designed for manufacturers who sell or service their products through dealers, to more easily quote orders, manage sales, track inventories, manage warranties and recalls, and provides dealer self-service to their account history all from their ERP system. The solution enables customers to create a single, online website to automate and streamline their dealer activity.

“According to Forrester, direct-to-consumer (D2C) commerce is not a new approach to retail, but there is renewed interest for it among branded manufacturers (1),” explained Scott Hays, senior vice president, product marketing, Epicor. “Epicor can help manufacturers transform the dealer experience through a modern eCommerce interface that dramatically elevates their brands to accelerate business growth. Dealer Network Portal works seamlessly with Epicor ERP and eliminates the cost of manual interactions and duplicate data entry, reducing errors, and overall operational costs.”

Announcing the latest version of Epicor ERP

The latest version of Epicor ERP (10.2.300) is designed to help manufacturers differentiate their brand to stand out by being the first one that utilises the Epicor Kinetic Design Framework, announced at Epicor Insights earlier this year. The Epicor Kinetic Design Framework is a design-focused, strategic initiative to improve the customer’s experience with our software applications. With the introduction of the enhanced Home Page developed in the Kinetic framework customers can create a personal layout and then switch it with another published layout or move from tab to tab for additional views, which support faster, more informed decisions through much greater visibility into their business at just a glance.

Additionally, to help customers take advantage of the new features, Epicor University is now offering a cloud hosting option for ERP application help, as well as education courses with help search being powered by Microsoft Azure. These are designed to help remove the burden from customers’ IT staff to maintain their own help or education environments. Contextual video help will also be available for several new functions of Epicor ERP, such as AP invoice entry, job entry, job tracker, purchase order entry, and customer maintenance.

Epicor ERP 10.2.300 is scheduled to be released and generally available on October 18. For more information, please visit the Epicor ERP homepage.

Epicor partners with Implemento in Australia as part of regional expansion plans

Partnership will support mid-market customers to achieve their growth ambitions

Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth announced it has signed a new partnership agreement with Implemento in Australia.

As part of the agreement Implemento will resell the global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution Epicor ERP, and will manage implementations, supporting customers to achieve their growth ambitions.

Implemento is based in South Australia, servicing the aerospace and defence industries across the state. Targeting midmarket manufacturing enterprises, Implemento will resell customised and optimised Epicor ERP solutions, to help its customers in the defence industry supply chain to achieve a strong return on their investment.

“The Australian government recently announced its new defence export strategy which aims to rapidly grow the country’s defence export industry. It’s great to see an increased focus from the government on strengthening the Australian defence manufacturing industry. We look forward to partnering with Implemento to provide ERP solutions to assist companies in this sector to grow further through the use of technology.” said Greg O’Loan, regional vice president, ANZ for Epicor Software

This new partnership with Implemento reflects Epicor’s commitment to growing its presence in the region and follows the company’s recent partnership with Datec—a specialist in financials and supply chains, which works with governments and large enterprises—to help it expand to the Pacific Islands of Fiji and Vanuatu.“The South Australian defence industry is set to boom in the coming years, particularly in light of the recent announcement by the government. Midmarket manufacturers in the defence industry supply chain will have to invest in agile technology in order to meet this future demand. Reliability and compliance are absolutely essential, and Epicor helps customers in this industry manage those processes more effectively by delivering a single source of truth, and one platform to manage all operating information. We’re excited to partner with Epicor to offer our customers an ERP solution that will help them take advantage of growth opportunities while minimising risk,” said James Black, director for Implemento.

“We are excited to gain a new partner in the region, particularly within the growing defence sector. Developing a strong partner ecosystem with strengths in different areas is core to our strategic approach and we believe Implemento will bring significant opportunities to the table, as well as help us grow into the future,” said O’Loan.

“This new partnership reflects our ambition to become the ERP provider of choice in the region and we’re excited to work with such a strong partner to help them drive their customers’ growth. We’re keen to continue to recruit the right partners with specific industry experience that can bring specialisation in manufacturing, aged care, distribution, and services. They must be customer centric, local and passionate about how technology can help to drive the growth of our customers– Implemento meets these criteria perfectly,” concluded O’Loan.
