Vertel partners with Virtutel to resell NBN Enterprise Ethernet

Vertel, Australia’s largest privately-owned telecommunications carrier, has partnered with Virtutel to resell NBN Enterprise Ethernet throughout regional Australia, providing high-speed, fibre-based internet so that communities can realise their smart cities potential.

Virtutel is an Australian-owned and operated full-service domestic and international telecommunications carrier. As one of two initial retail service providers (RSPs) to offer NBN Enterprise Ethernet, the service complements its business-grade bitstream TC-2 and TC-4 NBN products. Virtutel’s NBN Enterprise Ethernet product is available nationally from all 121 Points of Interconnect and allows for symmetric speeds between 10Mbps and 1Gbps.

Ixia announces first 50 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) validation solution on a proven, field tested platform

Ixia’s 50GbE validation solution, initially demonstrated as a proof-of-concept at industry event Interop in May 2015, strengthens the company’s leadership in setting the pace for new Ethernet protocol and network interface support. It builds on the company’s Xcellon-Multis® family of load modules with 50GbE testing speeds, adding to the previously shipping 10, 25, 40 and 100GbE speeds.

Ixia continues to work with industry leaders to drive deployment and adoption of new Ethernet speeds, and help to create the specifications for both 25GbE and 50GbE as a contributing member of the 25G/50G Ethernet Consortium and to the IEEE P802.3by draft standard for 25GbE. Fluke networks’ new LinkRunner AT sets new speed and simplicity benchmark for Ethernet connectivity testing

With one touch of a button, the LinkRunner AT performs six essential connectivity tests and returns the results to the user in less than ten seconds, paying for itself in about a month.*

This speed and simplicity, combined with the ability to customise additional tests, lets IT managers ensure that technicians at every skill level can automatically perform a standardised set of tests and reduce errors, speed problem resolution and improve productivity by reducing errors and call backs.

Fluke Networks identified six key Ethernet connectivity tests for the AutoTest feature based on decades of leadership in the network test and measurement space. The tests, which ensure Ethernet connectivity, include continuity, link/speed/duplex, DHCP and DNS server availability and performance, key resource connectivity through TCP port open or ping, nearest switch and port identification and Power over Ethernet (PoE) performance (with TruePower™ line loading technology).
