New Fluke 1730 three-phase electrical energy logger simplifies the discovery of electrical energy waste

Even well-run facilities can experience energy waste, most commonly through equipment and system inefficiencies or by operating at expensive times of day on the utility rate schedule. Detecting those wastes requires logging energy consumption over time, using expensive power quality analysers operated by engineers with advanced training. Unfortunately, those cost and skill barriers have made energy audits impractical for many facilities.

The Fluke 1730 Energy Logger changes that; a streamlined energy logging tool with a straightforward, intuitive design, the Fluke 1730 lets technicians load studies and energy logging right out of the box. The results provide facility managers with the information necessary to identify and prioritise energy saving projects.

The compact energy logger conducts key measurements of voltage, current, power and power factor to identify areas of energy waste. All measured values are logged automatically and can be reviewed during logging. Common setup errors are rectified, through re-engineered cables, digital check and auto-correct of all connections and an on-screen wizard for interval setup. It has the highest safety rating in the industry (600 V CAT IV/1000 V CAT III), can be powered directly from the measured circuit eliminating the need to find a power outlet and has two USB ports for fast data downloads to PCs or standard thumb drives.

Data logged by the 1730 can be imported into the Fluke Energy Analyse software for further processing and archiving. New Fluke CNX Wireless System simplifies troubleshooting

F-cnx-3000_71d_cNovember 8, 2012Fluke Corp. introduces the Fluke® CNX Wireless System, the first set of test tools that wirelessly connect multiple measurement modules and send simultaneous readings to a master device up to 20 metres away. The rugged, customisable tool set lets users choose various measurement modules based on their specific troubleshooting scenario.

At the core of the Fluke CNX Wireless System is a CAT III 1000 V / CAT IV 600 V multimeter with a screen that displays its readings along with live readings from up to three other measurement modules. For more complex troubleshooting, users can view live measurements from up to 10 modules simultaneously on a computer equipped with the CNX PC Adapter.

The modules, which include AC Voltage, AC Current Clamp, iFlex AC Current Clamp and K-Type Temperature units, can take live measurements or log up to 65,000 sets of data. Logged data can be saved to a computer in .csv format.

The Fluke CNX system lets users place modules in hazardous or awkward places and then watch the readings from a safe distance. For example, technicians can de-energise a panel, connect voltage or current modules to all three phases and close and re-energise the panel. The measurements can then be read outside the arc flash zone.

By leveraging the most common electrical test tool, the multimeter, the Fluke CNX system lets technicians extend their existing capabilities and skills, helping them meet market demand for more complex three-phase work without retraining on more complex test tools.

* overall vibration – the 805 measures overall vibration from 10 to 1,000 Hz and provides a four-level severity assessment for overall vibration and bearing condition

An evolutionary design of the Fluke 5520A —the most widely used Multi-Product Calibrator in the world—the new Fluke 5522A will serve in daily use both within and outside of calibration lab. It is durable enough to be safely transported for on-site or mobile calibration of a wide variety of electronic test tools.

The Fluke 5522A is ideal for metrology engineers, technicians and lab managers who need to calibrate many different types of electronic equipment and require a transportable instrument that delivers a high return on investment in today’s challenging economic environment.

With the Fluke 5522A, metrologists can do more with less by investing in a single calibrator that gives them the flexibility to calibrate a wide range of instruments. For greater productivity, the Fluke 5522A can be fully automated with MET/CAL® Plus Calibration Management Software.

A redesigned front panel and carrying handles make it easy to transport the calibrator short distances within the lab.

Accidently applying too much voltage to a calibrator’s input terminals can cause costly damage. The 5522A provides reverse power protection, immediate output disconnection, and/or fuse protection on the output terminals for all functions, making the unit virtually mistake proof.

The Fluke 5522A sources direct voltage and current, alternating voltage and current with multiple waveforms and harmonics, two simultaneous voltage outputs or voltage and current to simulate dc and ac power with phase control, resistance, capacitance, thermocouples and RTDs. It can also measure thermocouple temperature signals, and a wide range of pressures using any of 29 Fluke 700 Series pressure modules.

Two options add the capability to calibrate oscilloscopes with bandwidths to either 600 MHz or 1.1 GHz. Another option enables the 5522A to calibrate power quality instrumentation to the standards of the IEC and other regulatory agencies.

Sydney, September 29, 2010 – Fluke Corporation, the global leader in portable electronic test and measurement technology, has introduced the industry’s most advanced, capable and comprehensive family of clamp meters, designed to meet every requirement for testing and maintaining electrical systems, industrial equipment and controls, and commercial and industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.

With this new family of clamp meters, Fluke provides a range of features to meet even the most demanding requirements for flexibility, safety and performance.

These test tools include:

  • Fluke 381 Remote Display True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter, a full-featured meter that features the industry’s first detachable display
  • Fluke 376 True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter is designed for testing large industrial motors and other high current applications in the toughest industrial environments. The Fluke 381 and Fluke 376 ship with the new Fluke iFlex flexible current probe (see below)
  • Fluke 374 and 375 True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meters measure both ac and dc current. The Fluke 375 is designed for use with common motors and drives below 600A. Every clamp meter in the family is improved. They feature thinner, smaller jaws for easier use inside crowded equipment cabinets, large backlit displays, true-rms standard and improved overmolding for easier handling and improved survival if dropped.

Safety ratings too are improved. The Fluke 381, 376, 375, 374 and iFlex current probes are rated for safe use in hazard category IV (CAT IV) 600 V environments (CAT IV 600 V, CAT III 1000 V) as defined by safety regulators in the US, Canada and Europe. The Fluke 373 is rated CAT IV 300 V, CAT III 600 V. A rating of CAT IV 600 V is required for use in outdoor environments.

The new Fluke family of clamp meters includes:

Fluke 381 Remote Display True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter – The Fluke 381 is a full-featured clamp meter with an important extra: users can remove the detachable wireless display for even more flexibility, convenience and safety. One technician can do jobs that used to require two people: clamp the Fluke 381 around a conductor, remove the display, then close the equipment cabinet or move across the room to operate controls – all while watching real-time readings. It includes the new iFlex flexible current probe (see below).

Fluke 376 True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter with iFlex With the new Fluke 376 Clamp Meter, users will be ready for any measurement challenge. Designed for the toughest industrial environments, it measures current up to 2500 A ac and 1000 A dc and can troubleshoot even the noisiest motors and drives. With true-rms ac voltage and current measurements, min/max/average and inrush recording, the Fluke 376 can read up to 1000 V and 1000 A in both ac and dc modes. The Fluke 376 includes the new iFlex flexible current probe (see below). The Fluke 376 is the direct replacement for the Fluke 337.

Fluke 374 and 375 True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meters – The new Fluke 374 and 375 clamp meters offer improved performance perfect for many current measurement situations. With true-rms ac voltage and current measurements, the Fluke 374 and 375 can read up to 600 V and 600 A in both ac and dc modes and handle min/max, average and inrush recording. Both are compatible with the new iFlex flexible current probe (sold separately). Ideal in an industrial environment, the Fluke 375 also comes with R Range, frequency to 500 Hz, mV dc, and integrated low pass noise filter.

Fluke 373 True-rms AC Clamp Meter – The new Fluke 373 basic clamp meter offers improved performance and maximum value for price-sensitive users. It is perfect for many ac-only current measurement applications. With true-rms ac voltage and current measurements and inrush, the Fluke 373 reads up to 600 A ac and 600 V ac or dc.

iFlex i2500-18 and i2500-10 Flexible Current Probes – The new Fluke iFlex flexible current probes expand the measurement range of the select Fluke meters to 2500 A ac while providing the ultimate measurement flexibility. The iFlex probes connect directly to the meter, displaying current measurements without error-prone scaling factors. The large coil allows users to reach around large or awkward-shaped conductors, while the small 0.3 inch profile allows the coil to reach between tightly-packed cables and improves access in crowded spaces. Their six-foot cord allows measurement at a distance from the conductor, making it easier to view the readings. Fluke Calibration introduces new DHI PG9607 piston gauge

Optimised for very low uncertainty and dimensional traceability

Sydney, September 13, 2010 – Fluke Calibration, a global leader in test and measurement technology, has introduced the new PG9607 piston gauge, which delivers unequaled performance for measurement of absolute and gauge pressures up to 500 kPa (72.5 psi).

The PG9607 piston gauge is designed with the requirements of the US National Measurement Institutes (NMIs) in mind. It offers innovations to reduce sources of pressure uncertainty, a 100g mass load to allow a wide range of pressure defined by a single piston-cylinder assembly, and a new high-performance 50 mm piston-cylinder design.

The design is based on a special project undertaken by DH Instruments in cooperation with a top NMI pressure lab to define a gas pressure to within less than two parts per million, traceable to dimensional piston-cylinder effective area measurement. The resulting commercial PG9607 uses the same five kPa/kg piston-cylinder specially designed for low geometric distortion to support dimensional effective area determination with low uncertainty, for true fundamental definition of pressure.

The PG9607 piston gauge uses DH Instruments AMH automatic mass handling technology to allow fully unattended testing, establishment of better reference vacuum and improved long-term mass stability. COMPASS® calibration management software is also offered to support complete test system automation without the need for custom programming.
