SAP Concur has unveiled its biggest travel innovation in years for the Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) markets with the launch of its new Concur Travel solution. The upgraded platform delivers a modern, consumer-grade user experience and integrates advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, streamlining corporate travel management and enhancing decision-making.
Jonathan Beeby, managing director, SAP Concur Australia and New Zealand, said, “Businesses need more streamlined, intelligent ways to manage employee travel. The new Concur Travel experience answers this demand by consolidating travel bookings, policy compliance, and sustainability insights into a connected, mobile-first solution. This culminates in a full picture of organisational travel while empowering employees to book and manage business trips with ease.”
Key innovations of the new Concur Travel solution include the integration of the AI-powered Request Assistant for automatic, pre-trip cost estimates. The planned future integration of SAP’s generative AI (GenAI) assistant, Joule, will further support predictive cost estimates, intelligent meeting location recommendations, and dynamic itinerary management. Joule will provide estimates for business trips based on historical employee preferences and live data, creating a more proactive and streamlined planning environment. These enhancements will empower organisations to plan proactively, reduce operational overheads, improve accuracy, and enhance employee satisfaction.
The upgraded user interface delivers a seamless, intuitive experience across mobile and desktop. Richer content, improved imagery, and increased visibility into sustainability ratings let travellers make informed choices aligned with business priorities and personal values. Users gain easy access to carbon emission data and eco-friendly options, adding strategic value to corporate travel programs where environmental sustainability is non-negotiable. New omni-search capabilities also let users search by airport, city, or even company location for a faster and more intuitive booking experience.
Jonathan Beeby said, “The real power of the solution is in the convergence of travel and expense data. Using new Concur Travel with Concur Expense gives organisations a consolidated view of all spending activity for real-time decision-making. Travel bookings automatically populate expense reports, minimising manual data entry and errors, while integrated policy enforcement tools embed compliance into every stage of the employee journey. This approach strengthens financial oversight and expedites employee reimbursements, driving better outcomes across finance and HR functions.”
SAP Concur has placed a strong emphasis on employee experience as part of the new platform evolution. Features like travel collaboration through Microsoft Teams, one-way flex fare options for greater booking flexibility, and timeline views remove complexity from the travel process. Organisations get a more unified and intuitive user journey that drives higher policy adoption rates and lower program leakage, all while improving employee engagement.
The launch of new Concur Travel coincides with businesses balancing tight cost and compliance controls with rising employee expectations for flexibility and convenience. Disconnected or fragmented systems create unnecessary inefficiencies, limit data visibility, and increase the likelihood of compliance breaches. By contrast, SAP Concur’s end-to-end approach brings travel bookings and compliance monitoring together into one intelligent ecosystem, dramatically improving efficiency, resilience, and business agility. The transition to the new Concur Travel experience is seamless, requiring no changes to user URLs, logins, passwords, or mobile apps.
Jonathan Beeby said, “The new Concur Travel solution gives ANZ businesses a critical opportunity to modernise their travel strategies with localised support for one-way faring, updated policy enforcement by trip leg, and enhanced sustainable travel options. Organisations can streamline operations, empower employees, and drive better business outcomes by embracing an integrated, data-driven approach to travel management. SAP Concur is committed to equipping its customers to lead the way as corporate travel continues to evolve.”
